Something to Say

This is where I tell you things about upcoming shows and new works!

To Hilma and Back

On March 22, 2018, I traded a piece of art work to a friend for sky miles so that I could fly to NYC. I wanted to see the exhibit, Paintings For the Future: Hilma af Klint.

Nothing could have prepared my for the many ways this day would change me. The redirection of my work, the creative process, and the delirious abundance with which the work reveals itself.

Because I wasn’t sure what the copyright implications may or may not might be of posting af Klint’s work, I am only posting one that I took at the start of the show. However I do find the single image of Hilma’s work to be apropos. To encounter a sliver of her images in person can be more than stirring to the spirit.

This offering of a narrow timeline that was, in actuality, an hours long dive into deeper realms in a temple that spiraled to the sky. An even narrower moment in my lifetime that left me breathless and brighter than I had ever been.
